Hello all.
You’ll notice a slightly different editorial picture on here today. If you would allow me to introduce myself. I’m Simon Hobden from Berkshire and Wiltshire borders. I run a printing and publishing company there and a studio shop in Hungerford. I have been printing the Aylesbury Guide for something like 12 years and have got to know David and Diane well in that time.
Those of you that know David and Diane will know that they both have had some health issues due to passages of time, so now seems opportune for them to
step back slightly, after more than 15 years of publishing it themselves.
Rather than see the Aylesbury Guide cease, I thought that I should step in and ensure that it continues and provides a useful resource for the community. I was lobbied by Diane to make this happen. So to this end, this is the first issue of mine (and Diane’s). Diane, will continue to do the odd thing for as long as she
wishes, as she is a huge advocate for the town, its churches and residents, and good causes all around this part of Buckinghamshire.
I have some plans for readers and advertisers to become (more) involved, and add to the content of the pages if you want to. Our apologies, for this issue coming out late… it’s been a learning curve. We will catch up with the next issue which will be the March April one.
My contact details are below so please pick up your phones or keypads and pop me some feedback whenever you want. All the best for 2024.
