When you receive this magazine half of the year has already gone. As the last issue was being distributed we had the opportunity to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. I visited a friend and we watched it on TV together, such pageantry. I probably won’t see that again. I wonder if my grandchildren will.

The Restaurant Review in the May/June 2023 issue on Thailicious restaurant in Market Square prompted several of our readers to try it out for themselves. We received good reports which I have passed on to the management of Thailicious.

I noticed two new businesses opened in June, BRIM Burger restaurant and takeaway opposite the Vale Park bus stop (see page 15) and Balista Clothing in the Hale Leys. I haven’t had chance to visit it properly yet.

As part of our clearing out operation our eldest daughter persuaded us to change the position of our lounge curtains. Not only has it made the room lighter, but we are able to watch the antics of the birds as they perch on the bird feeder, some of them are quite hilarious.
