The I Have A Voice Too! Drama Group, who are in partnership with the National Paralympic Heritage Trust, have had so much fun singing their song ‘Jubilation’ to lots of people which was composed by Robin Surgeoner to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Live performances to an audience started on Thursday 2nd June in Market Square in Aylesbury. Later in the day we went to the Petri Dish in the High Street and sung twice, one of which was recorded live on Facebook. We then sung at Discover Bucks Museum in Church Street who were hosting a cream tea event plus various activities.
Our group were also able to spend time looking around the museum. Although Andrew in our group cannot see, he can still feel and touch.
We also visited the beautiful Hughenden Garden Retirement Village in High Wycombe. On the way we sang lots of songs to the taxi driver! Theresa in our group lives locally and made her own way there, but we made sure we updated her on our singing in the taxi. We also sung at The Theatre Shed, Spinney Theatre in Amersham, The Healthy Living Centre in Walton Court and the Aristrocrat in Aylesbury. Everyone really enjoyed our singing and all the venues would like us to return. We already have a very full diary for the summer months.
If you are an adult with special needs who likes to act and sing then come and join us!
