It is hard to imagine that the last article we wrote was in August 2020. Six months on, the team at the NPHT continue to be based at home with the Heritage Centre closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we are pleased to say our embracement of digital continues and there are lots of exciting new resources to share alongside upcoming events!
We have had an action packed few months in which we have provided resources to local schools, play and community groups including live virtual tours, craft activities, treasure hunts and heritage sports days all centred around our fantastic local heritage. We have hosted a successful virtual Meet the Paralympian welcoming rower Helene Raynsford and provided a weekly blog, showing items from our collection and some videos for younger children to enjoy. If you missed these, you can still participate by viewing them on our website or YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcyzqg6BQJaLEBKGhW97CkA/videos
Whilst we miss being able to welcome visitors to the Heritage Centre, we, our small staff team and amazing band of volunteers, are enjoying connecting with you virtually and very much look forward to seeing you at Stoke Mandeville again! In the meantime, please do keep in touch and enjoy some fun activities with us.
