The I Have A Voice Too! drama group is meeting on Wednesdays and Saturdays on Zoom, at present just for an hour rather than the whole afternoon. We still act out some of our pieces, the favourites being In The Ghetto and the Dr. Guttmann Story. We also play memory games which helps us to remember our lines when acting and practice relaxation techniques which help when we get nervous, or forget our lines.
I was asked by fellow authors of the second book of “Hearts On The Rise: Connecting Through Corona”, what had impacted this group of vulnerable adults. So I asked
each one of the group what they missed and what were they fi nding diffi cult. Each one of them said that they missed going to work.
Other things they missed included being able to use public transport and taxis, not meeting friends or going to their social clubs, being unable to have parents take
them for medical or dental appointments and occasionally eating out. Just staying in the house, being restricted to walking to Tesco and back is really frustrating,
especially if the weather is sunny.
